SewIndie is a directory of sewing patterns from independent designers. You can search patterns across hundreds of indie pattern companies in one place, then save, rate, and organize the ones you love.

No. Anyone can search patterns and designers. A free account lets you favorite and rate patterns and build collections. Create an account whenever you're ready.

SewIndie doesn't sell patterns. Each pattern page links to the designer's own shop, so your purchase goes straight to the designer.

Check your spam or promotions folder first. If it's not there, try logging in. The login page will offer to resend the verification link. Still stuck? Contact us and we'll help.

Use the forgot password page. We'll email you a link to set a new one. If you're logged in, you can also change it under My Account › Password.

Yes. Go to My Account and edit your username on the Profile tab. Your username is the only part of your account that other people see, for example on public collections.

You'll find the delete option at the bottom of the Profile tab in My Account. Deleting your account permanently removes your favorites, ratings, and collections.

On the Patterns page, use the filters to narrow by category, attribute, format, audience, fabric type, or designer. You can combine filters and sort results by pattern or designer name.

Most patterns are published and available to buy. In testing means the designer is still running a pattern test before release. Discontinued means the designer no longer sells it, and we keep the listing for reference.

Favorites are a quick, single list. Tap the heart on any pattern. Collections are named lists you create yourself, like “Summer dresses” or “Kids' makes”. A pattern can be in as many collections as you like.

Collections are private unless you make them public. Public collections show your username, never your name or email. You can switch visibility anytime in My Account › Collections.

Your individual ratings are private. They count toward a pattern's overall score, and you can review or change them under My Account › Ratings.

We'd love to feature your work. Send a designer inquiry with your shop link, and let us know about any patterns that need adding or updating.
